Vehicle ready
Gear in the trunk is gear at home.
The back of the passenger seat is the one surface in a vehicle you can reach without leaving your seat.
BULKHEAD turns that surface into a wall.
Every pocket, accounted for
Tap a point. Eight places to put things, and a reason for each one.
Headrest strap
Over the posts, side-release buckle. On or off in about four seconds.
Loop strip
Full-width loop field across the top. Patches, a name tape, or nothing.
Top pouch
Laser-cut grid on the face, trauma kit inside. The one you reach for belted in.
Bottle sleeve
Takes a 32 oz bottle. D-ring beside it for a light or a radio.
Glasses pocket
Zip pocket with an elastic loop on the outside. Eye pro lives here.
Admin pocket
Second zip pocket. Pasters, a marker, the small stuff that ends up in a footwell.
Bottom pouch
The big one. Tools, gloves, straps. Load it heavy, that is the design. Tissue slot on the side.
Wrap strap
Runs around the seat shell and buckles behind it, so the panel is clamped flat instead of swinging.
Most panels are pendulums
Every cheap panel sags and swings.
Not a fabric problem, a geometry problem:
one strap at the top and nothing below it, so the pockets pull it off the seat.
This one has a second anchor.
A strap runs around the seat shell and buckles, so the panel sits flat.
Load it and it stays put.
What ends up on it
Questions we actually get
Does a MOLLE panel advertise to thieves?
Does a MOLLE panel advertise to thieves?
It is a fair question and the community argues about it constantly. Two honest answers. First, the panel faces the rear seat, not the window, and plain black at night is close to invisible. Second, and this matters more: nothing on it should be worth stealing. Roadside kit, first aid, a strap, gloves. If it is worth breaking a window for, it comes inside with you.
If you want the panel and not the statement, buy the black one.
Will it fit a bucket or sport seat?
Will it fit a bucket or sport seat?
Yes, that is what the extended webbing is for. The top strap goes over the headrest post and the long strap wraps the seat shell and buckles behind it. On a flat bench seat you can skip the wrap strap, though we would not.
Will the buckle dig into my back?
Will the buckle dig into my back?
Only if you run it across the middle of your back. Set the lower strap low, under the small of the back where the seat is already curving away from you. Two minutes when you install it, and then you never think about it again.
Does it sag when it's loaded?
Does it sag when it's loaded?
Not with both straps run. Sag is what happens when a panel hangs from a headrest strap alone and you load the top. Two anchors and heavy gear in the lower pouch, and it stays flat. That is also why the big pouch is at the bottom.
Can I mount it in the back, or on a wall?
Can I mount it in the back, or on a wall?
Both. Plenty of people run it on the back of the rear seat facing the cargo area, and it hangs on a garage wall or a closet door on two hooks. It is a panel. It does not care where it is.
Does it eat rear legroom?
Does it eat rear legroom?
Empty, you will not notice it. Loaded, the rear passenger on that side gives up about the depth of the bottom pouch, the same as any seat back organiser. Keep the heavy pouch low and it sits behind their calves, not their knees.
